Last Monday, my latest luxury home buyer arrived from Pennsylvania. They have moved to Gainesville for their career as new faculty at the University of Florida. I like to protect their privacy, so I won’t share their names. This is a great family with 5 kids ranging from 14 yrs old to 5 yrs old.
I met them at their new home at 9am for their walk-through before closing. The kids had not been in the house, they had only seen photos & video that their parents took when we found the home. So after their long drive and a night in a hotel, they were excited and ready to see the house.
I arrived before them, and opened the house and turned on all the lights. I waited for them in the driveway. They piled out of both cars, and the kids’ facial expressions were priceless. Tons of questions about the yard, the neighborhood and wow…all the trees! The older kids went running around to the back yard. I told the mom & dad the front door was unlocked and ready for them. Now, this was their home.
It was wonderful to watch the kids run from room to room. Talking about each room, and all the questions “Mom which is my room?” “Dad, did you see the garage?”
The mom tells me that their youngest is having trouble understanding what is FLORIDA. Everyone has been saying that they were moving to Florida, so at that age he just didn’t understand what kind of place that was…..
We were all sitting on the floor of the living room, and he says “Mommy, is this Florida?” She gave him a big hug and said “yes”.
It has to be super cool to move from Pennsylvania, and your new home has a beautiful screened in swimming pool, huge yard to play, and 3 times more space that their other home.
I love working with buyers! This family found a beautiful 5 bedroom, 4 bath home on over an acre in SW Gainesville, and by 11am that morning….they were all swimming!
It will be a happy home.
It will be a great place to grow up!
Life is Good!
