Don’t Forget to File Your Gainesville FL Homestead Exemption

January 8, 2013 by Chris Bohn

If you bought your Gainesville Fl Home in 2012, then now is the time to file your Homestead Exemption.  If you lived in the home on January 1, 2013, and the home is your PRIMARY residence in the State of Florida, you are entitled to this Homestead Exemption on your home.

You must file by March 1, 2013.  So, don’t wait!  Don’t forget!   You are urged to file as soon as possible once you own and occupy the residence. First time applicants must file before the deadline of March 1 for the tax year in which they wish to qualify.

WHERE to FILE:   The Alachua County Administration Building
