Back-to-School Mode Already?

July 23, 2010 by Chris Bohn

Back to School ShoppingWhile watching GMA this morning during breakfast, I saw a segment about “back to school savings” by Betsy Worley.  She did a great segment about Christmas in July for School Shopping.   This made me realize that we are just ONE MONTH away from the first day of school.

And, here in Gainesville (Alachua County Florida)….that means for the first time, all students must wear “UNIFORMS”.

I will be shopping for SOLID colored shirts POLO or Button Down shirts with collars.

Currently, my 16 yr old son doesn’t own a solid colored shirt.  He has plenty of T-shirts, and button down “print” shirts…but that is now a NO-NO for his Senior Year.

That means Shopping……….ugggghh.

We plan to go to our local OLD NAVY store this weekend, as they are advertising some low prices on items we can use as uniforms AND….an additional 25% discount if you provide student ID.

Let’s get back to the NEW UNIFORM POLICY HERE:

Yep, this is the first year that our local school board has ruled that we must follow a UNIFORM CODE in all public schools.  Printable PDF Version

If you need to know more about the UNIFORM CODE – just click on this link at the SBAC Web site.

With us being just one month away from the first day of school, you might want to print out the 2010-2011 School Calendar.
