Happy New Year 2013
Another New Year’s Eve at our home was warm & comforting. A great meal and a home full of love is what we are thankful for. I rang in the New Year watching New Year’s Rocking Eve on TV with the 2 kitties sleeping on the couch. I am very grateful for making it through another year. My real estate business was good. My son is happy in college. Happy New Year 2013!
My home was built in 1982, and we bought this home in 1995. We’ve taken our time getting each bathroom updated over that last couple of years. The only remaining major project to do was the kitchen. It was an ugly, dated kitchen. Yes, I wished and shopped around but could never commit to the renovation. The costs to renovate were just too much money. But, recently I spoke with a experienced Gainesville home builder, Tom Henley. Tom had great suggestions, and gave me some great advice. Not to mention that his quote was one that I could afford!
So, on December 15th the renovation began! Mr. Henley said they would be done by Christmas Eve.
The Kitchen renovation morphed into updating my dining room with new tile & paint, and my office with new carpet & paint, and the living room with new carpet & paint. Tom Henley is a great home makeover professional! He helped me select the tile, carpet, paint, granite, backsplash. I also got myself a new smooth top stove with a double oven too!
Tom Henley’s subcontractors were a great bunch of professionals. Friendly, hardworking, and quality workmanship!
The workers were finished at 4pm on Christmas Eve! It’s taken me another week to get everything back into the kitchen and final touches from the painters. It’s been a great experience! I took photos every step of the way and did a Flickr Slide show!
There is nothing like a new feel, new smell, and warm comfortable feeling in my home now. It’s a great way to finish the year, and start a new one. I am so glad that I got this done. And I am very glad that Tom Henley convinced me to do the additional updating for the other areas of my home. It was like my own version of extreme home makeover!
Thank you Tom Henley and your crew! Thank you to Neely Davis for advice! Thanks to my sister, Lisa and my mom for your opinions on picking things out too! And thank you to my son Michael, for putting up with the house being a total mess for 2 weeks!
Happy New Year!
2013 will be another Great Adventure!
