It’s so very rare that I have a Saturday off. But anyone that knows me, will understand that I can’t sit still for long. So, I would like to share what I’ve gotten done on my day off.
When I got finished showing condos yesterday afternoon, I stopped by Garden Gate Nursery on NW 43rd Street. I’ve been wanting to remove some old boxwoods at the front of my home and get some BIG Hydrangeas. They had something new called Mini Penny Hydrangea™. Of course, I had to buy three of them! When they get blooming each year it will provide me with “Porch Pleasure”.
First thing this morning, the boxwoods were torn out, and the Mini Pennies went in.
I’ve gotten them all planted. There’s nothing more relaxing for me than to spend time digging in the dirt. Luckily, I got it all finished before the hot, hot sun set in on the front side of the home.
I’ve loved hydrangeas ever since seeing them growing in my Granny’s yard in Mobile, Alabama. I even brought some of her’s to my back yard and they are blooming beautifully this year too.
I also found a new plant that had the most unusual blooms called Cat Whiskers…..and the butterflies will love this one too. I love the blooms on this! My photo doesn’t do it justice, so click on the link above and see better photos of the Cat Whiskers blooms!
Of course, a bought a few more repeating Day Lillies too. The ones I got were very full 1 gallon size but they were full of thick roots and will spread out very well. Thanks Garden Gate Nursery! Yep, I love working in my yard!
Everything is planted!
I’ve improved my Front Porch Pleasure Zone !!
Hope you are all having a good SATURDAY too.
